TAMI HOAG'S DIALOGUE
TALK IN THE FRENCH TRIANGLE -
Novelist Tami Hoag - née Mikkelson - tries to capture the language of the French Triangle in Louisiana. In the following dialog between a defense attorney and a cop, insults are traded with considerable imagination. (Quotes from: A Thin Dark Line).
Attorney: I sure as hell don't trust you any farther than I could throw a grown hog.
. . .
Cop: Collusion! You give yourself a hernia in trying to drag that dead horse in to court, you old goat.
. . .
Attorney: Smith Pritchet will bring charges before you can digest the grease you ate for breakfast.
. . .
Gus's features twisted as if he had just got wind of day old road-kill.
: : :
Conversation between two cop partners. One of them in a holding cell, Thus in trouble.
Nick (in the cell): I find out you fucked me over, you'll wish your mama and daddy never got past first base.
. . .
Chaz (from outside the cell) while suggesting a defense lawyer to Nick: That ol 'boy can make Lucifer look like the poor misunderstood neglected child of a dysfunctional family.
2.0 Heidi muses: "Why that .... is not just beastly."
